Why does hashrate in the Foundry Zcash Pool appear different from hashrate in miner management software?
The Foundry Zcash Pool estimates hashrate based on total accepted share difficulty received in a time range. Miner management software calculates hashrate based on mining machine clockspeed.
The Foundry Zcash Pool estimates your hashrate based on the total accepted share difficulty we receive within a given time range.
Most miner management software polls data from CGMiner. CGMiner calculates hashrate based on the clockspeed of the mining machine, which yields different numbers than the Foundry Zcash Pool.
Calculating hashrate based on shares will have more variance and does not include stale and rejected hashrate. If you want the numbers to reconcile between your miner management software and the Foundry Zcash Pool, you also need to calculate hashrate based on total accepted share difficulty.
